190 Youths from Kashmir inducted in Indian Army

What: 190 youths from various parts of Jammu and Kashmir were inducted as soldiers in Indian Army after completing one-year training.

Where: Srinagar.

  • The new recruits of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) regiment took oath at the ceremony at Bana Singh Parade Ground, near Srinagar.

Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI):
  • It is an infantry regiment of the Indian Army.
  • Its regimental insignia consists of a pair of crossed rifles.
  • 50% troops are Muslims.
  • Motto: Balidanam Vir Lakshanam (Sacrifice is a characteristic of the brave)
  • Colonel of the Regiment: Lt Gen Satish Dua, SM, VSM.
