About LCU L-57:
- LCU - L57 is the 7th vessel in the series of LCU ships designed by GRSE for Indian Navy.
- This is the largest ship of this kind built anywhere in the world.
- Maximum Speed: 15 Knots.
- Capability to transport two tanks or four special vehicles and 150 Army Troops.
- Can be deployed in multirole activities like beaching operations, humanitarian and disaster relief operations.
Landing Craft Utility (LCU):
- It is a type of boat used by amphibious forces to transport equipment and troops to the shore.
- Capable of transporting / deploying tracked or wheeled vehicles and troops.
