- INS kalvari is the first of the Indian Navy's six Kalvari-class submarine being built in India.
- 30% of the equipment on the Kalvari is made in India giving a boost to 'Make In India' concept.

- Length: 61.7 m
- Beam: 6.2 m
- Draught: 5.4 m
- Draft: 5.8 m
- Speed: 20 knots when submerged and 12 knots on surface.
- Range: 6500 miles at 8 knots speed (surfaced) and 550 miles at 5 knots (submerged)
- Endurance: 40 days compacts and 50 days normal.
- Kalvari has a superior stealth technology and can launch massive attacks through precision guided weapons.

- The Kalvari class is a class of submarines based on the Scorpene - class submarine being built for the Indian Navy.
- It is a class of diesel - electric attack submarine which is designed by French naval defence and energy company DCNS and being manufactured by Mazagon Dock Limited in Mumbai.
